hAPpY tHAnKsGiViNG...

Totally different way of spending thanksgiving this year... first I woke up at 4am so that I would be on time to meet my friend Kecia of Lemoncholoy to go off on a treasure hunt at the Columbus Flea Market... Temperature wise it was cold, but finding some most reasonable goodies was hot... I think we both came home with a fair amount of goodies for an early morning of adventure...thanks Kecia for asking me along, I had a grand time...

Then the rest of the day was just chilling with my pup boyz & hanging at home.... I know that the holiday is all about family, and it is ~ but its also about giving thanks... I felt that I needed time with myself that I don't have much of... honestly being by myself didn't make me feel bitter or sad... it gave me time to reflect what has gone past in this year of 2010. How certain decisions produce different out comes, & how God & life can surprise you...

Celebrating by myself gave me the opportunity to experiment a little with one or two of the dishes that I ate which was a good thing... I feel that you could be in a crowd of people and feel alone but you can be on your own and not feel alone... I hope that made sense... Life is definitely too short whether you're 102 or 22 ~ you need to bee in that moment & just enjoy the ride that God has provided for you...

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving & many blessings 2...

Grace Peace & joy

  1. Marlene, I totally get your thought about being alone and not being lonely. This Thanksgiving my DH & I went to the movies. And not even the same one! I wanted to see Harry Potter and he wanted to see an action flick. We each had a great time. I didn't feel lonely at the movie by myself. We didn't do a big meal (we were vegetarians for such a long time I never learned to cook a turkey). With the kids not here this year we decided just to hang out. It was a different holiday but one that didn't feel like I missed out on anything.

SO glad your Thanksgiving was so renewing for you! You deserve that feeling!
